Robert L. Kagan, M.D.
Medical Director

A pioneer in MRI technology, Dr. Robert Kagan has been on the cutting edge of the healthcare industry for decades. Today, he remains at the forefront of medical science serving as medical director of BodyVision, the first full body scanning facility to offer a programmatic approach to healthcare.

More than twenty-five years ago, Dr. Kagan opened the first nuclear cardiology laboratory in Florida and established himself as a leader in the diagnostic use of magnetic resonance imaging and in the interpretation of MRI scans. In 1983, when it was still considered an experimental technique, Kagan opened the first outpatient MRI facility in Florida, which also was the first facility to receive FDA approval in 1984. He provided the first mobile MRI service in 1985, and then in 1987, opened the first open MRI center in the state.

Along with his position at BodyVision, Dr. Kagan serves as the Medical Director of South Florida's MRI Scan Center. He was also Medical Director of Nuclear Medicine at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Miami. He is board certified in clinical pathology, nuclear medicine and hyperbaric medicine.

Published in numerous papers in peer reviewed medical journals, Dr. Kagan has held offices in several professional organizations and lectures extensively both at home and abroad on CT and MRI technology. He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the International Society of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, the Institute for Clinical PET American College of Nuclear Physicians, the College of American Pathologists, Society for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging and the American Roentgen Ray Society.

Dr. Kagan received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He then went on to the University of California San Francisco to complete his postgraduate medical internship. He also fulfilled his residency training programs in pathology and nuclear medicine at the National Institute of Health as well as fellowships in MRI at UC-San Francisco and Huntington Memorial Research Laboratories in Pasadena.

As scanning technology becomes more popular and new centers continue to open, Dr. Kagan and Bodyvision remain a step ahead by using the most sophisticated equipment in combination with a full blood chemistry analysis to empower people to take charge of their own health and well-being.
